I will read through your non-fiction book and extract themes from your book that are appropriate for current kids’ book market and trends. Then we will define your characters and setting, story plot-line options, and “golden nuggets” must haves from your current book. Finally, we will explore and decide which kids’ book style best fits your message.

Market Strategy

I will research kids’ books already on Amazon and the general book market and research the style and success of those books. Then we will assess who your target audience/purchasers will be and I will provide suggestions about what would be most suitable for your topic and kids’ book goals. Finally I will provide you with a Best-Seller’s Playbook based off the extensive research.

Writing Your Kids Book

I will help you start creating a buzz around your book and your journey while I start the drafting and “first story” process. I will prepare 3 drafts of the story, each with adjustments and approval from you and finally we will decide on the book’s visual goals and I will start the Illustration process.

Why write a kids’ book if I already have a non-fiction book for adults?

Good question! Kids’ books will introduce characters and situations kids can relate to in a way they can easily comprehend, without being overloaded or bored. Your valuable material is geared for a more mature and experienced audience—but the message and applications can be converted for kids! Don’t forget about the new audience, higher visibility, and increased relatability you will gain!

Won’t my writing voice be lost?

Kids’ book writing style is much different from non-fiction writing… so even if YOU wrote the book yourself, the language and style would have to be much more simplified. However, I will involve you enough that the crucial pieces of your voice—repeated phrases, ideas, tone, (most) word choice—can be carried through! P.S… your kids’ book will have YOUR name on the cover!
